Although I absolutely adore Christina Hendricks, this is not my favorite portrait. I wanted to publish this and move on, though, because my list of people to draw is growing and growing. I’ll take you through a few of my versions. I started with too many lines…
I’ll start with the final 16″x20″
I added some stray lines to accent her cheeks and lips

This is the drawing I started with at first. I used too many lines – found too many shapes – so she looks like a Hendricks Bot (as opposed to a beautiful human).
I tried to cover up some of the “extra” shapes, but it just looked sloppy:

Maybe a little bit flat,but it is quite nice.
Yeah I think I fell flat because I added too much in my first attempt. Thank you for the feedback!
