Lorna Alkana

I originally wanted to do a self portrait that was also a map because I’m working on a new project for the Art House Co-op.  This one didn’t turn out that way, but it was good practice.  I had some fun with copying and pasting.  I’ll take you through the process.

The final product is either this one or the one below it.  They are 20″x24″ digital drawings.

This one has different sizes of the portrait arranged over a color pattern that corresponds to the edges of the face.

This is the original portrait, all by itself. This is the same as above, but the outline is a light beige   I decided to go with the white outline, though, because I like how the edges disappear into the background.  It’s more mysterious. I began the original outline with green so I could better see my lines. I thought about adding hair… And the original, though edited, photo:
