Bathroom Art

Written by:

I took this source-picture when I noticed how romantic the bathroom at Stories had become.  It had always been nice and clean, but someone must have decided the room could benefit from some mood lighting.  Or maybe the lamp’s bulb is more sustainable than the previous one.  Anyhow, it was absolutely lovely and inspired this digital drawing.

I played around to create a few different versions once I got the initial lines down.  If I could do it again, I would have drawn thinner lines.  The image is 12″x18″.  The blue one is my favorite.

Here’s the process:

Really like all of them but the heavily edited one and the tan + black lines are my favorite.

Love all the variations together, sort of like bathroom tiles in themselves!! Although I would perhaps “grout” them with charcoal rather than white… Isn’t it interesting how the simplicity of the blue can become all the more attractive than the colour and details of the original and other variations? It is like it has pulled the essence of the atmosphere out of all previous versions, and out of the bathroom itself!
I dropped by briefly, and I am glad I did, to present you with a little gift as a thank you for following my colouring book blog for so long!
