i’m going to attempt a 30 day drawing challenge with my dear friend Kate Kincade. for this challenge, we will complete a list of 30 prompts, in order, over a period of 30 days. today/yesterday i started with prompt one/day one. You can google 30 day drawing challenge to find a list! there are a bunch of different versions. the one we’re doing starts with: yourself. Jordan took a picture of me sitting in my new kick ass office/studio/bedroom. for parts of this drawing i pressed lightly with the colored pencils in order to layer the colors more effectively and avoid breaking pencils tips with my impressive hand strength.
My mom says this drawing makes me look 20 years older than I am. I’ll work on that. (Not looking older, but drawing myself younger)
Love this piece of artwork! Reminds me of cubism. Really cool. And don’t worry about making yourself look older: it’s a style!
Looking forward to your challenge!
K
Thanks a lot! It’s style…and a need for finer pens!
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL DRAWING ,,
Thank you!
Love the color in this piece! I hope you are enjoying the 30 day challenge. You’ve got some really fun & interesting work.
Thank you so much! I was enjoying the challenge for a bit, but my partner-in-crime and I decided to switch to a different 30 day challenge. I’m going to start with day one: what’s in your bag? Hopefully I’ll have more to work with…
The green shading and the floor give it a spherey, fish eye lens effect kinda
Great drawings. This takes far more dedication than I could pull off. I could barely finish my Sketchbook Project from last year – Kudos to you!
Wow! Thank you! The challege isn’t done, yet, and my Sketchbook Project for this year is still sitting in my to do box. We’ll see if I can pull off this dedication thing. 🙂
You inspired me! I started a 37 day haiku challenge for myself on my blog. I gave you credit, of course, and put a link to here 🙂 Love your stuff, Lorna!
Wow! How exciting! I look forward to reading your haikus!
I love the idea of this challenge! And it makes great fodder for a bog, too. Thanks for the idea! Now I just need to get started on that… 🙂
Oh. A ‘blog’. I guess if it sucks enough, throwing it in a bog might actually be appropriate…
Great! It was fun to do with a buddy! We actually didn’t finish any of the challenges we started. Instead, we’re each going to make our own list of 15 prompts and combine them to create a challenge that works better for us. Thanks for stopping by! Good luck with your challenge!
Ha! Good save!
I love this! The vibrant colors and slightly tilted picture plane make this a really dynamic piece! I shall explore more of your work 😀
