Bluegrass in the backyard

Sancho Gallery at night was like the living room of a tree house.  Lawn and wooden, plastic and folding, comfortable and broken chairs snaked around the grass, all facing the brightly lit performers.  Walter Spencer’s bluegrass band brought the audience to their feet.  People danced their way to the stage, perhaps wanting to climb the stand-up bass like a ladder and listen to the music from a higher branch…

This is another Echo Park Rising inspired drawing.  Man oh man that event needs to happen more!

Sancho Gallery the night  of Echo Park Rising was like the living room of a tree house.  Lawn and wooden, plastic and folding, comfortable and broken chairs snaked around the grass, all faced toward the brightly lit performers.

Walter Spencer’s bluegrass band brought the audience to their feet.  People danced their way to the stage, perhaps wanting to climb the stand-up bass like a
ladder and listen to the music from a higher branch.

  1. This is my all-time new favorite! It’s like a star-burst of red… WOW. Can’t take my eyes off of it! The details interwoven throughout the piece provide new substance every single time I come back to look at it.

Total eye-candy! Keep up the great work! ❤ ❤ ❤

  2. Thank you! I have another version where it looks like there is actually grass and that it is actually blue. I may post that one too. The red here is pretty powerful, though.

  3. “People danced their way to the stage, perhaps wanting to climb the stand-up bass like a ladder and listen to the music from a higher branch…”

I like this sentence a lot.
