Process: We Are She Is Magic Keys

If you build it they will come…more like if you give me a space, I will come and build. The Magic Keys medium has given me room to explore black lights, site-specific installation, and crowd engagement/interactivity.  This fourth installation of hanging UV art took place at the WASI (formerly We Are She Is) EP release show at The Hi Hat in Highland Park (Los Angeles), last Saturday, May 13, 2017.

I have so much love for WASI and Beating Lights for watering the LornaPhone plant.  The simple sentences “We Are She Is” inspired a post-it city-scape storm of an installation.

It took a few weeks to plan and create this art for the 5 hour show.  Here’s a mix of photos and film stills showcasing the process.  Look for Blushh, Goon, Wasi, and Maddie Ross in the mix.  I was stoked to arting next to Katbing ART, too!  Somehow there’s music in the vid.  I’m not sure how.  Oh, the learning process!

Thank you Sarah  Norwood for snapping some pics at the event!

I am enjoying the layers of the process.  When I got home after the show, I set up the project again to document the accumulated post-its.  I filmed the set-up:

I’m already planning for my next installation with Play Like A Girl (PLAG) for their one year anniversary on Saturday, May 27th, 3:30 PM – 1 AM at The Echo.  All ages.  Learn more and get tickets here!
