I’ve spent a lot of time on flyer art, which I LOVE, because it’s a fun challenge to communicate both the facts and details of the event as well as a vibe, and make it all intriguing.
I would make most of the handouts, dittos, when teaching middle school. I had a similar sense of balance in mind. My graphic organizers are what get the most hits on this blog.

For a bit, I didn’t consider flyer art LornaAlkana.com art, and I’m reflecting on that. I really like this portrait I did of the artist William R Brun for his birthday event last Friday.
And many of the flyers I made for the LAWordSalon are re-contextualized as independent works of art in the LAWS Review anthology. Soon to be released.
[I’m feeling the need to update my blog with all I’ve been thinking since I last saw it. There’s an urge to rapidly catch-up, so I can get back to just enjoying the moment. Like reuniting with an old friend.]
